Exhibition: Chris Roberts-Antieau
Event Type:
ExhibitSunday, May 2, 2010 - Sunday, July 18, 2010
Using cloth found in thrift shops and fabric stores, Michigan artist Chris Roberts-Antieau hand sews scraps and cuttings into “fabric pictures” mounted in handmade frames. Half collage, half textile appliqué, her technique and process are entirely self-taught. Whether she is documenting True Stories of Very Brave Dogs or illustrating her Famous Chicken Salad Recipe, Roberts-Antieau infuses every piece with delightful humor and a deep sense of joy.
