ProgramFacilitator (H) Community Recreation Dept. (Part Time) -- TRACE

 

TRACE Program Description:

TRACE(Teens Re-Imagining Art, Community & Environment) is a jobs-focusedteen leadership program run by the Chicago Park District’s Departmentof Community Recreation. TheTRACE programcultivates young creative activists who seek to collaborativelyunderstand and exercise their abilities and shared responsibility toadvocate for and create change within their local and widercommunities. We do this by using art processes to engage in dialogue,bridge-building and problem-solving.TRACE is a paid internship in the summer and a volunteer opportunity during the school year.

 

The Program Facilitator Duties:Administersday-to-day program operations in an effective and timely manner, andworks to ensure that the program remains consistent with its design andobjectives. Responsibilities may include program staffing, scheduling,site visits and evaluation, general troubleshooting and a range ofoffice duties, such as payroll administration. Executes budget; makessure expenditures remain within budget limits. Identifies resources forprogram supplies and services. Provides technical assistance to parkinstructional staff to familiarize them with the program’s ideas andgoals, so that staff efforts advance the program’s objectives. Collectsand reviews program data. Works collaboratively with regions and parkstaff on program development, staffing and events.

2010 Wages: $14.39 - $25.61 per hour

 


 

Qualifications and Application Requirements

Skills & Qualifications: 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Recreation, Leisure Studies or arelated discipline in social services, cultural enrichment,environmental education or sports management plus two years’ experiencein a core program area, or an equivalent combination of education andexperience is required. Administrative experience preferred.

Relevant experience includes:participation in or supervision of community arts project, outdoor andadventure recreational work with youth, high school classroomexperience, youth development experience with teens, communityorganizing related to youth issues, environmental education andadvocacy specific to urban locales.
