Loyola University Chicago’s Department of Fine and Performing Arts is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the staff on a part time basis to assist the costume shop manager in working with, supervising, and directing work study and practicum students, as well as assist in constructing costumes for the main-stage productions. Candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to produce results while working independently. The costume shop is looking for someone who can work two to three days a week preferably in the afternoon.

Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinates, mentors and assists students with sewing projects.
- Develops, cuts, and constructs costumes using industry standard techniques.
- Assists with fitting, altering and mending of costumes when required.

Requirements:
-The ideal candidate will possess excellent sewing skills and have strong interpersonal capabilities for working and communicating with students.
-Bachelor’s Degree in fashion/costume construction or relevant field is preferred.
-Minimum of two years’ experience in the field.
-Preference will be given to candidates with a background in, pattern making, pattern grading experience, and tailoring.

This is a temporary employment for our fall semester with a competitive salary, with position beginning immediately.
