Developing a Robust Volunteer Program

Event Type:
Workshop
Thursday, September 16, 2010 9:00am
Tony Escobar, Director of Community Relations, Breakthrough Urban Ministries and Liz Laird, Volunteer Coordinator, Breakthrough Urban Ministries

What does a robust volunteer program look like? How can an organization develop a more meaningful volunteer experience as well as more effectively employ its volunteers? This workshop, led by a team of experienced volunteer managers, will help participants diagnose the current state of their volunteer program, provide ideas for how to develop further the volunteer experience, and host dialogue regarding best practices. Focusing on the four key principles of effective volunteer management—vision, values, structure, and volunteer development—this seminar encourages participants to imagine more for their organization and embrace the role of volunteers in achieving organizational mission.
